High Park Smile Studio (Google Maps, opens in a new tab) accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) to help ease financial barriers to accessing oral health care for eligible Canadian residents. Please let our team know if you plan to use CDCP benefits when booking your appointment.

What You Should Know About the CDCP
Your Sun Life welcome package includes your coverage start date. Plan to receive care on or after that date, and confirm that your coverage is active before your appointment.
Our office will verify your coverage and co-payment level before providing services. Bring your coverage or renewal letter to your next dental appointment so we can review the details with you.
Understanding Your Costs
The CDCP does not cover every dental service or necessarily the full cost of treatment. Depending on your adjusted family net income, you may have a co-payment of up to 60% of the CDCP-established fees. Additional charges may also apply.
Before starting any treatment, ask our team what the plan covers and what you will need to pay. Let us know that you intend to use CDCP benefits.

Visit the Government of Canada’s application page to check current application information, eligibility requirements, and what you need to apply. Applications are handled through Service Canada.

CDCP coverage must be renewed each year. Check the official renewal page for the current renewal period and instructions. If you miss the deadline, you may need to submit a new application and could have a gap in coverage.
- File the required tax return and receive your Notice of Assessment. This also applies to your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable.
- Follow the current Service Canada renewal instructions and review your eligibility information.
- Review your confirmation letter for your coverage period and any changes to your co-payment, then bring it to your next appointment.
Keeping Your Coverage Up to Date
Coverage and co-payments can change when you renew. The amount covered for your visit may differ from an earlier estimate or preauthorization. Dental care received during a gap in coverage is not covered by the plan.
